This presentation reports the initial research findings of a research project that explores the student and employer
perspectives on employability. In particular, it will present the identified key skills and the gap between students’
perspectives and employers’ expectations. Understanding this gap offers an opportunity to improve employability
provision within and alongside the undergraduate curriculum. The presentation will aim to generate a debate on
approaches for enhancing employability. The research was undertaken collaboratively between staff and students as
part of a University of Worcester Vacational Research Assistantship Scheme.
