Abstract

Landscape and colour have been used to depict different psychological states. These illustrations were influenced by subjects such as phrenology and mindfulness with the aim of depicting emotions in a way that will encourage an empathetic response from the viewer. By using different environmental signifiers to communicate contrasting moods, I am also illustrating our shared understanding of what is a safe, tranquil and desirable location and what is not. The work was made using a combination of analogue drawing and digital processes.
