The purpose of this research is to carry out an empirical evaluation of a conceptual process model for new service development (NSD) and to test the model with qualitative data gathered through in-depth interviews and a questionnaire with UK based business-to-business service firms. The research will seek to advance this new innovation model for NSD towards involvement of the networks in the innovation activities and will address interaction and resource integration within the innovation system. This novel model will serve as a new innovation tool for the development of new business services with the use of networks, so that service practitioners can benefit more readily from an improved systematic approach to service innovation.
