Abstract

A presentation at the annual Association for Science Education conference, University of Birmingham, January 2014. Arguments for the use of wider cultural contexts in science lessons were given, examples suggested that could be used in science lessons and the role of museums, especially the Museum of the History of Science in Oxford, described. Presenters included Jane Essex, Lecturer, University of Keele and Christopher Parkin, Lead Education Officer, at the Oxford Museum of the History of Science.
