Abstract

Exploring implications of policy enactment through subjects and curricular areas such as health, movement, and physical education
• The current study offers insights gathered from a high school setting. We use it a feedback mechanism to consider what school students need, and student teachers could use as part of their developing practices through initial teacher education.
• Ethical reasoning (Poth, 2020) is addressed and subsequent implications for initial teacher education (ITE) alongside critical thinking and health & wellbeing (HWB) are proffered.
• Justice oriented practices (Block & Haneishi, 2025) are reviewed.
• We move into the third dimension, using movement as the pedagogical platform upon which pre-service teachers (PSTs), mentors and university tutors can co-construct their learning or activity with their respective pupils.
