Abstract

This is a collaborative pedagogic research project between the School of Education and Library Services at the University of Worcester. It explores how a Universal Design for Learning framework can be applied to teaching practice and the learning experience to encourage students to engage with reading. It is a response to the personal experiences and reflections of the researchers, that students often do not engage with reading sufficiently, a fact which is backed up and explored within the critical literature without large-scale changes in pedagogic practice.

The project incorporates a number of stages including technological responses, such as encouraging students to use accessibility tools, and supporting staff and students through wholesale digital change during Covid-19.
