Abstract
The poster highlights the transformative role of the International Journal for Universal Design and Universal Design for Learning (IJUDUDL) in tackling a major challenge in academic publishing, Author Processing Charges (APCs). These charges, are a substantial barrier for emerging researchers in the Global South, limiting their ability to publish in open-access journals and participate fully in global knowledge creation. Dr Bracken’s invited contribution underscores how inclusive publishing infrastructures strengthen research capacity, elevate diverse perspectives, and align with the British Academy’s Shared Principles for Equitable Partnership. Through collaborative, transnational governance and a commitment to removing financial barriers, IJUDUDL exemplifies how publishing models can advance fairness and mutual learning across the Global North and South.
