Abstract

The article examines the link between dementia and palliative care. Topics discussed include importance for nurses to help people living with dementia to achieve an enhanced quality of life and eventually a dignified pain free death, estimated number of people living with dementia in Great Britain, according to the Alzheimer's Society, and launching of the Challenge on Dementia which aims to deliver major improvements in dementia care and research.
