Within the HEI setting it is crucial for student nurses to recognise and link the application of module sessions to real clinical practice and address the documented theory-practice gap'. An Action Research study examined the student perspective pre and post a critical care nursing module. Qualitative and quantitative data reported that students viewed the PBL as having a positive impact on their everyday practice, specifically in improved teamwork,communication and increased confidence. A significant shift in attitude of PBL as a suitable learning approach was demonstrated pre and post the student experience. The study and the students have informed the future nursing curriculum at the University of Worcester.
