Abstract

Selection processes should aim to shape a future workforce, not just predict success within a programme. They should consider both nature (what individuals bring to programmes) and nurture (what is gained by undertaking programmes). Involving family doctors in all stages of selection helps ensure successful applicants hold appropriate values and aptitudes.
