Abstract

The article discusses how Great Britain can learn from the policies and programs of Western Australia on palliative care, particularly assisted dying. Also cited are the enactment by the Victorian government of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act (Vic) of 2017, how the act allowed people with unmanageable pain and terminal diseases to seek voluntary assisted dying, and the first case of assisted dying in Western Australia with the patient surrounded by family and friends.
