Abstract

The article focuses on the delivery of palliative and end-of-life care based on the need to maximise the quality of life of people suffering from life-threatening diseases. Topics include interventions for pain and symptom management as the main pillars of palliative care delivery, the barriers that prevent disadvantaged and vulnerable groups from accessing palliative care services, and the impact of staff attitude in the acceptance of these services.
