Leadership within community nursing needs to be embraced and redefined to ensure it is inherent within the profession, not just adopted by a few. As healthcare organisations continue to change and develop to meet new political agendas, meeting the needs of patients and associated improvements to service will be shaped by those who are willing to take ideas forward. This article looks at ways all community nurses can develop their leadership skills in order to affect change.
