Abstract

This 'IMPACT' contribution to the University of Worcester RESEARCH@worc, Spring 2025 Issue, outlines the route taken in the conceptualisation of the application of the en vivo leadership methodology (Murray, 2006; 2020), to the creation of a framework designed to protect children when online facing plausible harm from would-be predators.

The construct of time is used to make explicit established play patterns, bespoke to every child, and from these, a means to detect deviation from etched patterns indicating the call for purposeful curiosity on the part of the caretaker. Plausible attributions include the presence of an unwelcome 'fake play' companion. Means to upskill the child and caretaker are devised and form part of an educational training workshop, alongside practical training for contact with law enforcement and engagement with support bodies. The target of the intrapersonal work is to affirm agency for confident critical thinking on the part of the child and caretaker.

The work is an independent entity in itself and also partners 'The Electric Playground. The Pervasive Electrification of Childhood, Its Consequences and the Resolutions' as commissioned by the Alliance4Children.
