Abstract

"Sometimes it can take more courage to pick up a pen than a rifle"

The Ministry of Defence [MOD] and Human Rights Commission [EHRC] formed an Expert Working Panel determined to play a key part in the MOD/EHRC Agreement Partnership Project to help deliver the MOD's Diversity of 'a workforce, uniformed and civilian, that is: drawn from the range and breadth of the society we defend; gains strength from that society's range of knowledge, experience and talent; and welcomes, respects and values the unique contribution of every individual'.

Our aim:
To ensure all Service men and women and their families have
confidence in the complaints system and are treated properly, by:
• monitoring individual complaints
• holding the Services to account for fairness, effectiveness
and efficiency in their operation of the complaints system
• working with the Services and MOD to see that lessons
are implemented swiftly and effectively
• accounting publicly to Ministers and Parliament

Our values:
• independence of judgement
• fairness and justice
• integrity
• transparency and accountability
• respect for diversity
• proportionality
• outcome focus
• humanity.
