Abstract
Since the 2007 UDL Summit, CAST has recognized the necessity for leadership to support scalable implementation of universal design for learning. Now in the third decade of the 21st Century, and in keeping with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, UDL has extended into every corner of the globe with a common vision that education is a basic human right, a right that must be extended to all. UDL Implementation on a global scale requires leadership. INCLUDE proposes this will emerge through a collaboratory, a centre without walls, where we learn from one another through reflection, action, research and generating new shared knowledge for learners and teachers alike.
The presentation was shared with over 40 staff at CAST.org. It provided an insight into developments at INCLUDE, as planned and executed by its visionary members and steering group. Ongoing support for INCLUDE is necessary to further strengthen transnational collaboration so that actions for educational inclusion are consistent with the UDL guidelines and responsive to voices from our global community.
