Abstract
The following artist pages present an image and text dialogue between a painter and a performance maker. This dialogue has developed through a shared thinking through film, a medium made of singular images stitched together. Film connects painting with performance through the relation of still images with temporality; each film cell paused briefly before moving onto the next. As a means of exploring temporality in our own practice, the pages present eight still frame moments from films that have formed the center of our conversations. Each moment is centered on an object that initiates a syncopic action in the film.
