Abstract
Values-based practice offers a framework to learn about “professionalism”—a concept based on context-specific sociocultural values reflecting social contracts between health professionals and the public. Family medicine educators should make their beliefs and expectations explicit, act as authentic role models to reflect their societal contexts, and actively demonstrate their professional values.
