Abstract

The article discusses the importance for health professionals to ensure that those deemed important in caring for patients understand the situation so they know what they do not know. It notes that while they may be offering valuable support to the patient, it is possible they may not fully appreciate the emotional and physical demands this requires and may not know that they too can receive care and support service from health professionals to help them cope to challenges of terminal illness.
