The article discusses the Dying Matters Awareness Week event which is scheduled to be held on May 8-14, 2017, and it addresses an effort to raise public awareness about the importance of discussing palliative care, dying, and death-related issues such as grief and bereavement. The British National Council for Palliative Care's Dying Matters Alliance is examined, along with a 2008 End of Life Care strategy and the challenges associated with helping patients cope with dying.
