Abstract
This paper is a review of the potential value of the blended learning approach utilised in a level 6 module for final year undergraduate students entitled ‘Issues in ICT and Education’. It includes a focus on the nature of blended learning approaches. There is an emphasis on the analysis of asynchronous discussion board posts and
illustrative examples of reference to the on-line discussion within student assignments. The paper evaluates the impact of ways identified within the module to
improve the quality of asynchronous discussion and concludes with a discussion of identified issues.
