The theme for the University of Worcester Learning and Teaching 2020 conference was:
Inspired for Life: Educating students who will change the world
The landscape of Higher Education is changing rapidly; now more than ever before, as a learning community we are responsible for equipping our student with the tools, knowledge and desire to realise their potential and to impact on society to make a difference. To support this, our approach to learning and teaching needs to embrace diversity, address issues of employability and citizenship, whilst at the same time making best use of technology for engaging and effective learning. This conference will aim to explore pedagogic research, innovations in learning and teaching, and the development of insightful and imaginative professional practice that supports the broad agenda of educating students and graduates who can change the world.
We believe that higher education should have a transformative impact on individuals and on society as a whole; that is why at the University of Worcester we aim to support colleagues, students and graduates to be ‘Inspired for Life’ and to ‘make a difference’.
We explored this theme through inviting papers and case studies particularly related to the following four strands:
Education for equality, diversity and inclusion
Education for living and working in a digital world
Education for active citizenship
Educational innovations for 2020 and beyond
