Abstract

The article explores how community nurses can support the bereaved, focusing on the emotions of loss and grief. Particular focus is given to an examination of Dobbie Graie, a man who lost his wife after knowing her for 39 years, and his experiences with bereavement. Additional topics discussed include attachment bonds, the dual process model for bereavement and advice on how people can manage their loss.
