Abstract

This workshop will focus on the new statutory changes within RSE and Health Education and the ways in which PSHE can be developed within schools to positively enhance wellbeing for pupils. The workshop will address the legal requirements for schools, policies, dealing with controversial issues as well as exploring a range of inclusive resources and practices. Some topics such as relationships, resilience, health education and wellbeing within the classroom and beyond will be used as examples and linked to classroom practice as well as key research in these areas. This workshop will draw upon work around Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a tool for inclusion and offer delegates the chance to reflect on next steps for their own schools or provisions.
